Dead Seal

Dead seal on bluff in Anchorage off the Carr-Gottstein Park.

This is the third observation LEO has received of dead seals this year. On June 10th, dead seals were found near Kotlik, and on June 25th stranded seal pups were found near Shishmaref. Additional seals were found along the coast of the Norton Sound, Northwest Arctic, and North Slope regions. We have forwarded this observation on to LEO Network topic experts for help with a species identification.
