Adult deer are often seen walking down residential roads in Victoria, but are rarely seen playing.
Observation by Emily Dawydiak:
Deer have been frequenting the area for at least five years. In the past, I have noticed deer strutting down the middle of the quiet street, munching on plants or enjoying the shaded area under a porch but I have not seen deer playing before. It was about 6:30 pm and I noticed two deer, who were not fawns (no spots) and had no antlers, chasing each other around a neighbours house. They changed chasing directions once and they reminded me of two dogs playing. The deer let out a few huffs while briefly pausing before continuing to chase each other again. The play went on for about two minutes before the deer disappeared behind the neighbour's house.
