Coastal Erosion

Coastal erosion near Cape Blossom about 12 miles to the SE of Kotzebue. This is important because the earth literally is being sloughed off into the ocean. Cape Blossom is an important area for our entire region, as it is the location for a future deep-water port. The first image was taken in July 2015 and the coastal erosion can be easily seen. The second image was taken October 26, 2015, and shows how the earth has been washed away. The permafrost can be seen melting.
