Dead Sea Otters

Observation by Mike Brubaker:

Walking on the beach Saturday night, my dog found the remains of an otherwise healthy looking adult sea otter. Then on Sunday afternoon we found a juvenile. There was no signs of trauma. Otherwise, there are lots of otters currently in the bay. I will share this observation with Marine Mammal Stranding Network and see if they want the carcasses recovered. Both are located on the highwater line on the Kasitsna Bay side of the Spit.
