Dead Murres At Boat Harbor

Observation: My coworkers and I had gone for a walk on Friday, April 1st, and we found more dead seabirds looking exactly like the birds from the Spit Beach. They were all along the shore of rock quarry road at the boat harbor. All of them also had the weathered look as they have been sitting there for a while. We haven't observed anymore since.

Comment: This observation follows a post from four days earlier on Monday, 'Dead Birds on Spit Beach,' that occurred about a mile along the shoreline to the southwest. Found were a varying number of dead bird species numbering about 10 dead. University of Washington, Julia Parrish writes, "To me, all of this speaks to major shifts in the ecosystem, and this eco-disaster has been echoed by other major beaching events in the lower 48, including hundreds of thousands of cassin’s auklets (a krill-feeding relative of the murres) in "2013-14."
