Brown marmorated stink bug
Observation: Unusual insects were found in a local home. LEO, Honey Lou Wilson, suspects the insect might be the Brown Marmorated Stink Bug. "We figure the bug came in a box that we had ordered from E-bay that came from New Jersey," said Honey Lou. "We found 10 stink bugs in my house so far and they really do stink!" Cooperative Extension Service Consult: Michael Rasy, writes, "It would be important to receive a physical specimen of the insect. If it is in fact, the brown marmorated stink bug, this would be a new record for the state, but, we need to confirm this. Without the actual insect, we cannot say one way or the other whether that is what it is. Again, another interesting report, potentially a new record, but hopefully there is still a bug around that we could use for positive identification." (University of Alaska Fairbanks)
