Elevated PSP Levels in Unalaska and Sand Point

Observation by Bruce Wright: We are seeing rapid increases in Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning (PSP) levels in shellfish samples collected at some of our monitoring sites.

Unalaska:

June 5, 2018 levels were 14.5 µg/100g July 5, 2018 levels increased to 80 µg/100g

Sand Point:

April 18, 2018 levels were 115 µg/100g May 16, 2018 levels were 124 µg/100g June 15, 2018 levels increased to 529 µg/100g.
