The caribou are crossing at different times and locations as the years go by.
Observation: Each year a portion of the vast Western Arctic Caribou Herd migrates west across the Kobuk River. We have noticed that they are crossing at different times and locations as the years go by; potentially due to the different weather conditions we now get. The caribou migration is a very important subsistence food resource for our community. Linda Stotts, Kiana Traditional Council, Environmental Assistant
