Extremely high water on the Noatak
Observation: I took these pictures on Friday the 17th. Probably record rainfall, people had only 2 days of berry-picking in the last two weeks. We have high water; water well still afloat, :) and our water are still good. The road to gravel pit is really eroding this year. We are letting AKDOT know of that activity as we are in the works for a new airport, the state keeps pushing us back for one reason or another.
LEO says: As of August 21, Carol reports that the river level was dropping. There is an article from today's Anchorage Daily News about the rain and flooding in Alaska's Northwest Arctic.
