Unusual weevil (Curculionoidea)
Observation: Never seen this type of bug in our area before.
Cooperative Extenstion Service Consult: (2016-06-14) Jessie Moan, Statewide IPM Technician, writes, "This is a weevil. I'm not sure exactly which kind of weevil, though. Do you have any additional information on its size or what plant material might be in the area. Almost all weevils are plant feeders and some can be very specific on their hosts, which can help narrow down what weevil you have." University of Alaska Fairbanks
